I believe Faia and Kaen were 2 different Japanese words meaning fire (if I remember right).
He used to just be the bird on the dead tree with the spirally flame around it but that was boring so I added water... then got carried away. |D
He has a human form too, but I've never drawn a version I was happy with... They usually came out looking somethin like Marth (whom I only know of from Super Smash Bros Melee).
Faia was also the unofficial guardian of Dirv, Rah and Chrim sent by their mother after she lost her privilege of being able to visit 'Earth'.
